ABSTRACT: This study Investigated the Benefits of Early Childhood Drama Programs on Communication Skills. The objectives of this study were to: (1) evaluate the impact of early childhood drama programs on verbal communication skills, (2) assess the role of drama activities in enhancing non-verbal communication, and (3) determine the effectiveness of drama programs in fostering confidence and expressiveness in young children. A survey design was chosen for this research to collect detailed data from educators, parents, and children about their experiences and observations regarding drama activities. A sample size of 150 participants, including preschool teachers, parents, and children aged 4-6, was selected using the purposive sampling technique. The case study was conducted in early childhood education centers in Enugu State, Nigeria, known for its rich cultural heritage and active promotion of the arts. Findings indicated that participation in drama programs significantly improved both verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and fostered greater confidence and expressiveness among young learners. It was recommended that early childhood education centers integrate drama activities into their regular programs and provide professional development opportunities for educators to facilitate effective drama instruction.
